Final Conference, 28 November 2019, Valencia, Spain

The APPETITE (Agrifood Partnership Promoting Education for the Transition of the Industry Toward Enduring Business Models) project started on 1st of December, 2017. The APPETITE Project, supported by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme, aims at developing and delivering training and practical education on enduring business models among an innovative training course addressing, on the one side, to experienced agri-food entrepreneurs and on the other side, to youth seeking for new work opportunities.

The project also answers to the need for education and training in the field of Enduring Business Models in the agri-food sector.

The 2 – years project is supported by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme, and has 7 partners from 5 EU Countries (Turkey, Spain, Italy, Denmark and France). Union of Dairy, Beef, Food Industrialists and Producers of Turkey (SETBIR) is the coordinator of the APPETITE Project. The partners are; FEDACOVA (Spain), FEDERALIMENTARE (Italy), CRITT (France), COORDINA (Spain), Aalborg University (Denmark), TATICS (Italy).

On November 28, 2019, FEDACOVA organized the final event of the project at the headquarters of the AINIA Technology Centre in Valencia, Spain with the participation of representatives of all partner organisations, project beneficiaries, participants and other stakeholders.

Final conference was targeted national and European stakeholders who would become intermediaries for the mainstreaming of the APPETITE intergenerational training over Europe as well as representative of the beneficiaries (agri-food entrepreneurs and youth) at national level and at EU level.

The organization was at the headquarters of the AINIA Technology Centre, with the participation of Dr. Manuel Quílez, Managing Partner of COORDINA and project manager in the areas of Strategy, Organization of Companies and Human Resources, on sustainability trends in the agri-food sector and with the intervention of important experts at international level, such as Dr. Astrid Heidemann of the Centre for Industrial Productivity of the University of AALBORG (Denmark) who spoke of the business strategies of sustainability and how to manage changes between business models. Ms. Beatriz Giménez, Responsible for CSR at AINIA, also explained her values and corporate culture, a clear case of success in Corporate Social Responsibility. More than 30 participants attended.

During the final conference, APPETITE Project and its main achievements, “CSR – Corporate Culture and Values”, “Tendencies in Sustainability in the Agri-food Sector” were presented. After these presentations, round table about “State of the Implementation of Sustainable Practices in EU Member Countries” were done. The speakers were project partners from all partners’ countries. Further, “The Importance of Sustainability for Businesses” were talked about. And finally, APPETITE e-learning platform wrapped up.

The participants of final conference were also active, concerned, and interested in the presentations and discussions. The final conference was done very successfully, and it achieved its purposes.
